Why is GRK Infra stock sliding today?

GRK Infra stock dropped 14.8% to trade at €21.80 during today’s session after the Finnish infrastructure construction group released its January–September 2026 interim report before the market open, with revenue growth coming in below what analysts had anticipated.

Third-quarter revenue reached €287.7 million, up from €257.4 million a year earlier, while EBITDA rose to €39.1 million, representing a margin of 13.6% versus 10.5% in the prior-year period. Despite the profitability improvement, the company revised its full-year 2026 guidance, now projecting revenue of €850–950 million and adjusted operating profit of €80–95 million — a range that investors appear to have judged as insufficiently ambitious given the stock’s recent run toward its 52-week high of €27.90.

Operating free cash flow for the period was negative, though the balance sheet remained solid with net cash of €153 million and an equity ratio of 54.4%. The company also flagged that geopolitical uncertainty and raw material market volatility were creating cost pressures in the autumn, risks it said it was managing through careful advance planning and procurement expertise.

Compounding the earnings reaction, GRK simultaneously announced the appointment of Marko Leppänen to the group’s executive team, effective today — Leppänen being the CEO of KSBR, which joined the GRK group following an acquisition completed on June 30, 2026.

European stocks fell for a third day in four as disappointing earnings from a benchmark financial heavyweight dragged down the banking sector, providing an already-soft backdrop for today’s Helsinki trading. GRK’s order backlog at the end of the reporting period stood at €1,066.6 million, up sharply from €683.2 million a year earlier, a figure that under normal circumstances would be viewed positively, but which was insufficient to offset the market’s disappointment with near-term revenue delivery and cost outlook.

The combination of a revenue miss against elevated expectations, a cautious tone on autumn material costs, negative free cash flow, and a muted guidance update proved too much for a stock that had been trading near multi-year highs. The sharp intraday decline — with shares opening at €23.25 and hitting a session low of €20.95 — reflects a meaningful reset in near-term earnings expectations, as investors recalibrate their view of GRK Infra’s profitability trajectory heading into the final quarter of 2026.
