Tango Therapeutics stock falls despite positive cancer trial data

Tango Therapeutics (NASDAQ:TNGX) shares fell 6% Friday following the company’s presentation of Phase 1/2 study results for vopimetostat and daraxonrasib in pancreatic cancer, despite what the company characterized as promising data.

The stock declined after Tango announced updated results from its ongoing Phase 1/2 study showing an 82% objective response rate and a 9-month progression-free survival rate of 88% in 22 patients with second-line or third-line MTAP-deleted and RAS-mutant metastatic pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma. The median progression-free survival has not yet been reached, according to data as of August 20, 2026.

The combination of vopimetostat, an investigational PRMT5 inhibitor, and Revolution Medicines’ RAS(ON) inhibitor daraxonrasib was generally well-tolerated in 30 pancreatic and lung cancer patients who received dose level 1. The company reported no dose-limiting toxicities and no withdrawals due to treatment-related adverse events at this dose level.

Following discussions with the FDA, Tango plans to initiate a global randomized registrational Phase 3 trial evaluating vopimetostat with daraxonrasib in front-line patients with MTAP-deleted pancreatic cancer in the first half of 2027. The planned study will randomize patients 1:1 to receive either the combination therapy or standard-of-care chemotherapy, with dual primary endpoints of objective response rate and progression-free survival.

The study also evaluated vopimetostat in combination with zoldonrasib in patients with MTAP deletion and KRAS G12D mutation, showing a 54% objective response rate and 61% 9-month progression-free survival rate in 35 efficacy-evaluable patients.
