Taiwan stocks lower at close of trade; Taiwan Weighted down 1.51%

Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the , Glass and Optoelectronic sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted fell 1.51%.

The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Uniflex Technology Inc (TW:3321), which rose 10.00% or 1.95 points to trade at 21.45 at the close. Meanwhile, Faraday Technology Corp (TW:3035) added 9.98% or 21.00 points to end at 231.50 and SciVision Biotech Inc (TW:1786) was up 9.91% or 3.90 points to 43.25 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Tex Year Industries Inc (TW:4720), which fell 10.00% or 3.25 points to trade at 29.25 at the close. HannStar Board Corp (TW:5469) declined 9.85% or 8.10 points to end at 74.10 and Genius Electronic Optical Co Ltd (TW:3406) was down 9.77% or 130.00 points to 1,200.00.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 754 to 241 and 121 ended unchanged.

Crude oil for December delivery was down 1.42% or 1.46 to $101.32 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 1.35% or 1.51 to hit $110.13 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.39% or 15.65 to trade at $4,035.95 a troy ounce.

USD/TWD was up 0.49% to 32.55, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.49% to 0.20.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 102.10.
