Taiwan stocks higher at close of trade; Taiwan Weighted up 0.00%

Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Construction, Computers & Peripherals and Auto sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted rose 0.00%.

The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Tongtai Machine & Tool Co Ltd (TW:4526), which rose 9.99% or 4.10 points to trade at 45.15 at the close. Meanwhile, Cosmo Electronics Corp (TW:2466) added 9.96% or 26.00 points to end at 287.00 and Syntec Technology Co Ltd (TW:7750) was up 9.94% or 180.00 points to 1,990.00 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were HD Renewable Energy Co Ltd (TW:6873), which fell 9.93% or 5.70 points to trade at 51.70 at the close. Tai Twun Enterprise Co Ltd (TW:3432) declined 9.75% or 1.35 points to end at 12.50 and Topoint Technology Co Ltd (TW:8021) was down 9.60% or 46.00 points to 433.00.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 541 to 483 and 102 ended unchanged.

Shares in Tongtai Machine & Tool Co Ltd (TW:4526) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 9.99% or 4.10 to 45.15. Shares in HD Renewable Energy Co Ltd (TW:6873) fell to all time lows; losing 9.93% or 5.70 to 51.70. Shares in Cosmo Electronics Corp (TW:2466) rose to all time highs; gaining 9.96% or 26.00 to 287.00. Shares in Tai Twun Enterprise Co Ltd (TW:3432) fell to 52-week lows; down 9.75% or 1.35 to 12.50.

Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.85% or 0.86 to $100.90 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 0.74% or 0.82 to hit $109.92 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.42% or 16.95 to trade at $4,021.45 a troy ounce.

USD/TWD was down 0.19% to 32.53, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.20% to 0.21.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 101.93.
