Greece stocks lower at close of trade; Athens General Composite down 2.22%

Greece stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Banking, Telecoms and Household sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite fell 2.22%.

The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Optima bank SA (AT:OPTIMAr), which rose 1.60% or 0.22 points to trade at 13.95 at the close. Meanwhile, Fourlis Holdings SA (AT:FRLr) added 1.17% or 0.05 points to end at 3.91 and Motor Oil Hellas Corinth Refineries SA (AT:MORr) was up 0.76% or 0.45 points to 60.00 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Metlen Energy & Metals (AT:MTLNr), which fell 4.84% or 2.30 points to trade at 45.20 at the close. Eurobank SA (AT:EURBr) declined 4.74% or 0.22 points to end at 4.48 and Performance Technologies SA (AT:PREFr) was down 3.75% or 0.36 points to 9.25.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 100 to 21 and 13 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.30% or 53.43 to $4,060.07 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.27% or 0.24 to hit $90.28 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 1.21% or 1.19 to trade at $97.10 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.61% to 1.12, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.06% to 0.83.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.62% at 102.05.
