Andritz reports Q3 orders below estimates on project lumpiness
Andritz reported third-quarter results on Thursday with order intake falling short of expectations while sales and adjusted EBITA came in ahead of forecasts.
The company posted order intake of €2,166 million, missing consensus estimates of €2,253 million by 4%. The shortfall was attributed to lumpiness in the Pulp & Paper and Metals divisions.
Revenue reached €2,060 million, beating consensus estimates of €2,036 million by 1%. Adjusted EBITA came in at €185 million, exceeding the consensus forecast of €182 million by 2%. The adjusted EBITA margin held steady at 9.0%, matching both UBS and consensus estimates.
Andritz maintained its full-year guidance, projecting sales of €8.0-8.3 billion and a comparable EBITA margin of 8.8-9.1%. The guidance implies comparable EBITA of €704-755 million, with a midpoint of €730 million. UBS estimates stand at €752 million, while consensus forecasts €748 million.
The company said it expects project activity to remain at current high levels.
Third-quarter orders came in 3% above UBS estimates.
