Why is Siemens Energy stock climbing today?
Siemens Energy stock rose 1.3% to reach €134.98 on Xetra, extending a recovery that has now accumulated gains of more than 5% over the past three trading sessions as sentiment around AI-driven power infrastructure demand swung back in the company’s favor.
The move follows a sharp sell-off last Thursday, when the stock shed more than 8% amid broader doubts about the profitability of AI and data-center investment — a theme that has since reversed course as technology sentiment improved.
The primary supporting force behind the multi-day rebound has been Bank of America’s analysis of quarterly results from sector peers GE Vernova and Hitachi Energy, which the bank used to highlight four favorable implications for Siemens Energy: strong gas margin momentum, grid margins expected to move higher, sustained gas turbine order levels through 2027, and potential upside in the gas aftermarket.
BofA maintained its Buy rating, arguing that current valuations embed overly pessimistic assumptions despite solid operational progress — including Siemens Gamesa’s first profitable quarter in years. The company’s ongoing share buyback program, which has seen more than 4.5 million shares repurchased since late September, has also provided a technical underpinning.
On the macro front, the ECB held its rate decision today, a closely watched event for European industrial equities. The DAX was trading around 25,792 points during the session, while U.S. markets were mixed, with the S&P 500 edging slightly lower and the Nasdaq under modest pressure — limiting the broader tailwind for risk assets globally.
The combination of improving AI-sector sentiment, persistent analyst support, and the anticipation of Siemens Energy’s full-year fiscal 2026 results and 2030 strategic targets — due on November 11 — has given investors reason to buy into the recent weakness. With the stock still trading well below its 52-week high of €191.66, the analyst consensus continues to see meaningful upside from current levels.
