Street Calls of the Week

Each day gets one upgrade or downgrade, chosen by the largest reported percentage move. Maintains and price-target-only changes are excluded. Percentages are the premarket or intraday readings stamped in the cited articles, not closing moves. Markets are closed for the weekend.

Monday, Oct 19: Datadog reverses course

Bernstein SocGen upgraded Datadog (DDOG) from Market Perform to Outperform and raised its target to $350 from $237. Shares were up 6.36% in the 10:36 AM EDT movers list. The firm had downgraded the stock last quarter after a roughly $100M annual recurring revenue contract was downsized by its largest "Born in AI" customer. The upgrade signals a more positive read on growth. (Oct 19, 2026)

JPMorgan’s upgrade of Intel (INTC) to Neutral from Underweight was the runner-up. The stock rose 5.89% by 11:26 AM ET, which is below Datadog’s 6.36% reading. Read more (Oct 19, 2026)

Tuesday, Oct 20: NuScale sinks

Barclays downgraded NuScale Power (SMR) from Equal Weight to Underweight and cut its target to $5 from $11. Shares fell 6.5% premarket. The stock was already close to its 52-week low of $5.44. Bearish analyst sentiment had been building. (Oct 20, 2026)

Wednesday, Oct 21: DigitalOcean buy-the-dip

Piper Sandler upgraded DigitalOcean (DOCN) from Neutral to Overweight and trimmed its target to $126 from $142. Shares rose around 5% premarket. Analyst James Fish called the pullback overdone after AI infrastructure and cloud names fell more than 25% in recent weeks. He argued that GPU-as-a-service pricing remains robust. (Oct 21, 2026)

Close behind, RBC downgraded Mobileye (MBLY) to Underperform from Sector Perform, and shares slipped 4.1% premarket. (Oct 21, 2026)

Thursday, Oct 22: Newmont’s round trip

Freedom Broker downgraded Newmont (NEM) from Buy to Hold and cut its target to $116 from $130. Shares fell 4.1% in morning trading, in a session when the S&P 500 was down 1.2% and the Nasdaq down 2.1%. The firm also cut Agnico Eagle and Barrick that day, citing cost inflation. (Oct 22, 2026)

After the close, a Q3 earnings beat reversed the damage, and the stock traded at $115.67. (Oct 22, 2026). Coverage returned for Thursday was thinner than for other days, so a larger rating-driven mover may exist.

Friday, Oct 23: Nokia bounces back

Handelsbanken and OP Corporate Bank upgraded Nokia (NOK) to Buy, each with a €10 target, and SHB also moved to Buy. Shares rose 4.3% in morning trading to $8.22. The upgrades followed a post-earnings selloff over free cash flow guidance and restructuring charges, which the analysts called overblown. The stock’s daily RSI was near 29 and it had fallen roughly 26% in a month. (Oct 23, 2026)

UBS lifted Belimo to Buy, and shares gained 3.8% to CHF 766.5, which kept it just behind Nokia. (Oct 23, 2026)

The week in pattern

Three of the five picks were upgrades of stocks that had already sold off. Datadog, DigitalOcean and Nokia all drew analyst support after steep drops. The two downgrades hit NuScale, which was weak already, and Newmont, which was cut on cost worries. That fits the week’s broader theme: upgrades clustered in names with accelerating fundamentals, while downgrades hit stretched or rate-sensitive stocks. (Oct 23, 2026)
