France stocks lower at close of trade; CAC 40 down 0.36%

France stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Industrials, Technology and Utilities sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 0.36%, while the SBF 120 index declined 0.34%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were L’Oreal SA (EPA:OREP), which rose 5.64% or 23.30 points to trade at 436.30 at the close. Meanwhile, TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTEF) added 4.34% or 3.47 points to end at 83.45 and EssilorLuxottica SA (EPA:ESLX) was up 2.29% or 4.05 points to 181.20 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Kering SA (EPA:PRTP), which fell 16.57% or 35.38 points to trade at 178.12 at the close. Safran SA (EPA:SAF) declined 10.00% or 30.20 points to end at 271.80 and Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM) was down 6.04% or 0.23 points to 3.55.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Viridien SA (EPA:VIRI) which rose 6.84% to 93.70, Sodexo SA (EPA:EXHO) which was up 6.29% to settle at 59.95 and L’Oreal SA (EPA:OREP) which gained 5.64% to close at 436.30.

The worst performers were Kering SA (EPA:PRTP) which was down 16.57% to 178.12 in late trade, Valeo SA (EPA:VLOF) which lost 11.54% to settle at 11.38 and Safran SA (EPA:SAF) which was down 10.00% to 271.80 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 278 to 168 and 90 ended unchanged.

Shares in L’Oreal SA (EPA:OREP) rose to 52-week highs; up 5.64% or 23.30 to 436.30. Shares in Kering SA (EPA:PRTP) fell to 52-week lows; down 16.57% or 35.38 to 178.12. Shares in TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTEF) rose to all time highs; up 4.34% or 3.47 to 83.45. Shares in Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM) fell to 5-year lows; down 6.04% or 0.23 to 3.55. Shares in Kering SA (EPA:PRTP) fell to 52-week lows; down 16.57% or 35.38 to 178.12. Shares in Sodexo SA (EPA:EXHO) rose to 52-week highs; up 6.29% or 3.55 to 59.95. Shares in L’Oreal SA (EPA:OREP) rose to 52-week highs; up 5.64% or 23.30 to 436.30.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.06% or 42.93 to $4,017.47 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 3.32% or 3.30 to hit $102.77 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 3.23% or 3.66 to trade at $116.83 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.15% to 1.12, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.04% to 0.84.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.16% at 101.60.
