After banking an 87% winner, where does our AI move the money next?
Investing.com - Finding a stock that doubles is hard. Deciding when to let it go is harder - and it is where long-term performance is actually made.
There is nothing worse than watching a big winner bleed out because you hoped it had one more leg in it. When a high-flyer exhausts its momentum, disciplined capital does not sit and wish. It rotates.
Buying is only half the job. Compounding comes down to three decisions: bank the gain, control the risk, and find the next underpriced setup.
That is what ProPicks AI is built to do. Every month, alongside a fresh list of high-conviction calls, members also receive data-driven exit signals for positions that are no longer the best use of their capital. No emotion. Only the data.
See where the strategies are allocating capital this month.
The proof is in the execution
While most investors agonise over whether to hold or fold, our members get a clear monthly signal. Across 2026, the models have closed out a long series of profitable US positions - some held for a year, several for only a month or two.
Here are recent closed positions, with the gain measured from the model’s entry price to its exit:
Note: these are individual closed positions and are not representative of all picks. Past performance does not guarantee future results.
That is risk management in action - and, more to the point, it is cash freed up to redeploy into the next list of high-conviction setups.
What the models saw, and what they did with it
The valuable part of an AI-run strategy is not only that it generates an exit. It is that the entry was grounded in something measurable in the first place.
Haemonetics: a full year, held through the proof
Haemonetics was added in September 2025 at $54.54 and held for exactly 365 days before the models closed it at $101.95 - the largest US exit of the year outside the two positions we have written about previously.
What played out during the hold:
The position was closed in the September rebalance after the stock had nearly doubled - not a call that the company was finished, but a judgement that the easy part of the re-rating was behind it.
Commvault: in after the beat, out two months later
Commvault is the opposite shape of trade, and arguably the more instructive one. The company reported fiscal Q1 2027 on July 29, 2026. The models added it on August 1 - days after the print, not before it.
What the data showed at entry:
Two months later the position was closed for a +27.3% gain - an annualised rate above 320%. This is the post-results mispricing case: the market had the numbers and had not yet finished repricing them.
Position your portfolio with this month’s data-driven opportunities.
Where that capital went
The freed-up cash did not sit idle. The strategies that funded these exits are among the strongest on our US roster this year:
Mid-Cap Movers, which sold Haemonetics and Commvault, identifies the 20 most promising mid-cap stocks with a market cap between $2 billion and $10 billion each month. It is up +45.9% in 2026 and +36.5% ahead of the S&P Midcap 400 - the widest benchmark-beating margin of any US strategy we run. Its book currently stands at 14 holdings up against 6 down.
Energy Elite, which closed SM Energy, is up +78.6% in 2026, the strongest calendar-year return on the US roster, and +28.7% clear of the S&P 500 Energy index, with 12 holdings up against 3. Small-Cap Sprinters, which exited Alphatec and Inspire Medical, is up +34.1% and +23.1% ahead of its benchmark, running 15 up against 5.
One honest caveat worth stating: a monthly rebalance sells on a schedule, not at the top. Several of these positions were closed while still rising. The discipline is not about catching the peak - it is about refusing to let a crowded winner quietly become the portfolio’s largest risk.
Which strategies are beating their benchmark now
Heading into a heavy week - the Federal Reserve decides on Oct. 28, with Microsoft and HF Sinclair reporting the same day - four US strategies are ahead of their benchmarks by double digits in 2026: Mid-Cap Movers (+36.5%), Energy Elite (+28.7%), Small-Cap Sprinters (+23.1%) and Dominate the Dow (+12.1%). Healthcare Heroes adds +7.4%.

How Investing.com’s AI-Powered Stock Picker Works
At the beginning of each month, our proprietary AI system evaluates thousands of global equities using a complex blend of historical data, valuation signals, and forward-looking growth metrics.
By processing more than 15 years of financial data across more than 150 quantitative models, the engine identifies up to 20 high-conviction stocks per strategy based on their projected medium-term upside potential.
Every month, these strategies undergo a strict rebalancing process. New opportunities are added, strong performers are retained, and stocks that no longer meet the criteria are removed.
To consistently track performance, each strategy utilises equal weighting across all selected stocks. While investors are free to adjust their own allocations, this structure provides a transparent benchmark for evaluating overall model performance.
The goal is to keep capital positioned in the companies showing the strongest combination of momentum, valuation, and business performance.
