Why is Swedish Orphan Biovitrum stock rallying today?

Swedish Orphan Biovitrum AB stock rose 2.4% to reach SEK 470.2 after the Stockholm-listed biopharmaceutical company delivered a third-quarter earnings report that surpassed market expectations and lifted its full-year revenue guidance.

The company posted revenue of SEK 9.124 billion for the third quarter, up 17% at actual rates from SEK 7.776 billion in the same period last year. Sobi raised its full-year 2026 revenue growth outlook to high-teens to low-20s percent at constant exchange rates, up from its previous guidance of mid- to high-teens percent.

The revenue result came in above Factset analyst consensus of SEK 8.960 billion, while adjusted EBITA reached SEK 4.087 billion against an expected SEK 3.664 billion. The company maintained its adjusted EBITA margin guidance in the mid- to high-30s percent of revenue.

On the analyst front, the broader sentiment remains constructive, with the average 12-month price target for Sobi standing at SEK 501.67, with 8 analysts recommending buying the stock and none suggesting selling. One notable counterweight emerged, however, as Nordea downgraded the stock to Hold and trimmed its price target to SEK 450, tempering some of the upside enthusiasm.

Stockholm’s broader market opened the session on the back foot, with the OMXSPI index down around 0.3% and the large-cap OMXS30 losing approximately 0.4%, making Sobi’s advance particularly notable as a stock-specific move.

U.S. markets offered no meaningful support either, with the S&P 500 and Nasdaq fractionally lower and the Dow only marginally positive — none of which materially influenced Sobi’s Stockholm-listed shares.

The combination of a clear earnings beat, a meaningful upgrade to full-year revenue guidance, and a broadly supportive analyst consensus gave investors sufficient reason to push Sobi’s shares higher even as the wider market retreated.

With the stock trading at SEK 470.2 — approaching its 52-week high of SEK 487 — today’s results reinforce the growth narrative that has underpinned the stock’s strong performance over the past year.
