Turkey stocks lower at close of trade; BIST 100 down 0.92%

Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Basic Metals, Leasing & Factoring and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 0.92% to hit a new 6-months low.

The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Turkiye Halk Bankasi (IS:HALKB), which rose 3.46% or 1.44 points to trade at 43.10 at the close. Meanwhile, Tekfen Holding AS (IS:TKFEN) added 2.64% or 4.50 points to end at 174.80 and Ahlatci Dogal Gaz Dagitim Enerji ve Yatirim AS (IS:AHGAZ) was up 2.53% or 1.08 points to 43.80 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Eregli Demir ve Celik Fabrikalari TAS (IS:EREGL), which fell 9.97% or 3.50 points to trade at 31.60 at the close. Gubre Fabrikalari TAS (IS:GUBRF) declined 9.95% or 33.00 points to end at 298.50 and Zorlu Enerji Elektrik Uretim AS (IS:ZOREN) was down 8.72% or 0.13 points to 1.36.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 475 to 148 and 19 ended unchanged.

Shares in Zorlu Enerji Elektrik Uretim AS (IS:ZOREN) fell to 3-years lows; losing 8.72% or 0.13 to 1.36.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.29% or 52.25 to $4,008.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 2.91% or 2.89 to hit $102.36 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 2.96% or 3.35 to trade at $116.52 a barrel.

USD/TRY was up 0.23% to 49.74, while EUR/TRY fell 0.17% to 55.74.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.17% at 101.61.
