Netherlands stocks higher at close of trade; AEX up 0.17%

Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Healthcare and Industrials sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX rose 0.17%.

The best performers of the session on the AEX were Shell PLC (AS:SHEL), which rose 3.75% or 1.75 points to trade at 48.30 at the close. Meanwhile, SBM Offshore NV (AS:SBMO) added 3.50% or 1.18 points to end at 34.90 and Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc) was up 1.59% or 1.38 points to 88.18 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were BE Semiconductor Industries NV (AS:BESI), which fell 7.73% or 12.15 points to trade at 145.10 at the close. Akzo Nobel NV (AS:AKZO) declined 1.61% or 0.96 points to end at 58.62 and Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN) was down 1.53% or 0.06 points to 4.11.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 55 to 42 and 8 ended unchanged.

Shares in Shell PLC (AS:SHEL) rose to all time highs; up 3.75% or 1.75 to 48.30.

The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.

Crude oil for December delivery was up 3.31% or 3.29 to $102.76 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 3.25% or 3.68 to hit $116.85 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 1.07% or 43.43 to trade at $4,016.97 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.15% to 1.12, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.04% to 0.84.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.16% at 101.61.
