France raises 2026 wine output forecast to 36.7 million hectolitres
France’s farm ministry raised its 2026 wine production forecast to 36.7 million hectolitres from 34.9 million hectolitres projected last month, the ministry said Friday.
The ministry adjusted its estimate after accounting for the effects of severe summer heat and drought on grape yields.
The upward revision came mainly from better-than-expected yields in Languedoc-Roussillon and the Charentes regions, which together represent roughly half of France’s national wine volume.
Champagne and the South-East regions also contributed to the improved outlook, according to the ministry report.
