Airbnb Inc (ABNB) reported Q3 2026 results on Nov 5 after the close. The company beat on every line, and the market responded. The stock is at $190.96 (+12.24%) as of Nov 6, 12:50 PM EST, close to its 52-week high of $193.45.

Questions Answered

QuestionAnswerEvidence
Is growth really reaccelerating?YesRevenue $4.87B vs $4.75B est, up 19% YoY, the fastest in over three years
Is it just a pricing effect?Mostly notNights & Seats Booked rose 16% to 155M, from about 10% in Q2. Canaccord estimates about 13% excluding a 3-point lift from Reserve Now, Pay Later.
Is it broad-based?YesAll major regions accelerated, and first-time bookers hit their strongest pace in several years (Jefferies).
Can profitability hold?YesEBITDA was $2.51B at a 52% margin. FY2026 margin guidance was lifted to about 36%.
Is the industry weakness hitting Airbnb? Not so farBooking Holdings, Expedia and TripAdvisor flagged higher airfares and European unrest. Airbnb guided above the Street.

EPS was $3.16 vs $2.85 est (+10.9%). Gross booking value rose 21% to $27.7B. FY2026 revenue growth guidance moved to "high teens" from "at least mid-teens". That is the third consecutive raise.

Earnings history shows a clear turn. EPS missed in Q4 2025 (-15%) and Q1 2026 (-16%). Then it beat in Q2 (+8.7%, stock +16.8%) and Q3.

Caveats Still Open

  • Guidance assumes calm. It excludes any persistent hit from unrest in France or the Middle East conflict.
  • Q4 growth moderates. Nights Booked growth faces tougher comparisons, and EBITDA margin dips slightly YoY as marketing spend shifts into Q4.
  • Valuation is rich. Cantor (Neutral, $180 target) cites about 27x FY2027 P/E. InvestingPro shows a trailing P/E of 38.5. Evercore’s comparison is 14x for Booking Holdings and 11x for Expedia.
  • The stock has already run. It is +58.4% over 1 year and +19% over 1 month (as of Nov 6).
  • Part of the boost is mechanical. Reserve Now, Pay Later expansion contributed to the Nights Booked acceleration.

Next Catalysts

  1. Q4 guidance delivery. Revenue guidance is $3.22B–$3.28B vs the $3.16B Street estimate. Q4 results are expected around Feb 16, 2027 (tentative). Consensus is EPS $0.85 and revenue $3.16B, and it will likely rise.
  2. $12B buyback. The new authorization compares with $12.6B of cash and short-term investments at Sep 30. It gives a floor of support.
  3. AI Travel Agent. Launch is planned for the first half of 2027, with broader "agentic experiences" next year. Mizuho calls ABNB its top internet pick and sets a $245 target, the Street high.
  4. Hotels and services. Hotels are growing "markedly faster" than the core rental business but remain a single-digit share of revenue. There is also a new American Express partnership and car rentals.
  5. Estimate revisions. Consensus EPS is $5.31 for FY2026 and $6.26 for FY2027. Revisions over 90 days are only +1.6%, so there is room to catch up.
  6. Macro risks. Airfares and European unrest could undermine the "no material impact" assumption.

Takeaway

Analyst targets now range from $180 (Cantor) to $245 (Mizuho). Goldman is at $185 and Evercore at $230. The stock sits inside that range, so the debate has moved from "is growth back?" to "how much is already priced in?"
