Ex-cop who woke up covered in blood after alleged murder of NYC jogger appears stone-faced as he’s hauled away in cuffs
The ex-cop and current elementary school educator arrested in the slaying of the young jogger on a Brooklyn footpath.
A handcuffed Sayed Mohassib – the elementary school educator and ex-cop who told detectives he woke up with a weapon and covered in blood after the savage slaying of a Brooklyn jogger — walked calmly out of a Brooklyn precinct Saturday, with an ice-cold expression and creepy stare.
Mohassib, 27, seemed dazed as he was walked by investigators out of the 62nd Precinct stationhouse in Bensonurst at 4 p.m.
Hours earlier, the NYPD charged him with second-degree murder in the Oct. 30 fatal stabbing along the Shore Parkway Greenway in Bath Beach.

He wore a bright red Von Dutch jacket and appeared chillingly calm as he stared blankly at the reporters and shell-shocked students who gathered to see him leave the stationhouse.
The students of PS 200, where Mohassib worked as a paraprofessional assisting special-ed pupils, told The Post the aide was acting “off” last week.
He returned to the school just days after allegedly stabbing the 28-year-old TD Bank teller in the eck with a knife.
“He was acting a little bit, like, I don’t know, weird. A bit off,” said a 12-year-old boy who attends the Bensonhurst elementary school.

Two other students said they saw him talking to himself.
“He was nervous, worried,” one said.
Mohassib’s colleagues noticed him speaking incoherently and acting erratically, law enforcement sources told The Post. They reported the concerning behavior to police, though their reports weren’t what ultimately led to his arrest, sources said.
In personal photos taken years before the shocking slaying, Mohassib appears blank-faced and unemotional.

He posted an image of himself staring down the camera while wearing an NYPD dress uniform.
He spent a brief six weeks on the force in 2022 before leaving for the Marines — who ultimately deemed him psychologically unfit for service, according to police sources.
In another photo, Mohassib was pictured standing tall in his Brooklyn College basketball uniform.

Mohassib played on the university’s basketball team during his freshman year, logging a total of 19 minutes on the court over three games in the 2018-2019 season.
He scored a total of 10 points, snagged five rebounds, had one assist, and three turnovers in those minutes, according to the Brooklyn College Athletics Department.

Mohassib was charged Saturday with second-degree murder.
News of the Bensonhurst man’s arrest stunned his neighbors, with one woman saying she was “shocked” that the “good boy” could have carried out such a horrific crime.

A motive in the killing has not been determined.
The two attended Brooklyn College at the same time, but it’s not clear if they knew one another.
Mohassib lived in Bensonhurst with his family.
