Stabbed NYC jogger Katie Suarez saved 5 lives as organ donor: sources
Brooklyn jogger Katie Suarez, 28, saved five lives through organ donation after being brutally stabbed while out jogging on Oct. 30.
The jogger fatally stabbed in the neck by an ex-cop in Brooklyn last week saved five lives through organ donation, according to law enforcement sources.
Katie Suarez, 28, donated her pancreas, liver, kidneys and her heart after the heinous attack along the Shore Parkway Greenway promenade around 8 p.m. on Oct. 30, sources told The Post.

Suarez had been declared brain dead following the knifing but was kept on life support while doctors harvested her organs, police sources said.
The runner’s heartbroken mother, Yasira Suarez, confirmed her daughter had died several days after the bloody stabbing.

“She passed away yesterday. Katie is no longer with us, unfortunately,” Yasira Suarez said on Tuesday.
“Destroyed. We are all destroyed,” the grieving mother said, demanding her then at-large killer to turn themselves in.

“You took an angel,” she said.
Sayed Mohassib, 27, was nabbed by police Saturday morning and charged with second-degree murder, criminal possession of a weapon and tampering with evidence.

Mohassib — who did a brief stint in the NYPD before leaving for the Marines where he was deemed psychologically unfit — was tracked down by police after picking him up on video leaving the Shore Parkway Greenway around the time Suarez was brutally attacked, the sources said.

The accused killer told cops during his grilling at the 62nd Precinct that he woke up from a blackout covered in blood and with the murder weapon which he ditched in the garbage.
Hours later, Mohassib appeared dazed with an icy expression as he was hauled out of the Bensonhurst police station in cuffs at 4 p.m. and was awaiting arraignment as of Saturday evening.
He currently works as an elementary school educator in Brooklyn just three blocks away from the scene of the stabbing.
