President Donald Trump’s speech to a Mississippi rally was interrupted by a protester who told him to “shove that ballroom up your fat a**.”

The insult, referring to Trump’s huge ballroom project at the White House, is the latest in a series of heckles at the president’s midterm campaign rallies of late.

Trump was in the Magnolia State Monday to drum up support for Republican Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith, as his party battles against grim polling ahead of the November elections.

“I don’t have to stay up any longer, and what I’ve been doing in the past is walking off the stage to the consternation…to the consternation of the people that protect us,” Trump was saying, moments before he was interrupted.

Trump paused as the heckler hurled his insult before snapping: “Oh, go home. Go home. Go home.”

The president broke out into a grin before the unidentified man was led away, as the crowd chanted “USA”.

“So he gets paid - you know they’re paid protesters,” Trump claimed. “They get paid $250 by - they think it’s Soros.”

Trump has previously baselessly accused Hungarian-American billionaire George Soros of funding protesters demonstrating against the president.

“And they ruin their lives because now they get booked…now they get booked,” he continued. “We don’t usually press it too hard, but isn’t that terrible? I was just at the punchline too.”

Trump frequently boasts about the ballroom currently under construction at the White House, despite the project facing legal and political opposition since he ordered that the East Wing of the executive mansion be torn down to accommodate it.

Former President Barack Obama took a swipe at Trump’s renovation projects during a rally in Ohio over the weekend, claiming: “Guy’s building a ballroom that’s bigger than the White House.”

Trump hit back at his predecessor during the Mississippi rally by bragging about tearing up the 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action - an agreement to limit Iran’s nuclear program.

The president has insisted that he has limited the Islamic Republic’s nuclear capabilities through strikes on the country launched throughout his second term.

“‘He spends all his time thinking about the ballroom, he should be thinking about…,’” Trump said, supposedly quoting Obama. “No.”

“I should be thinking about terminating the JCPOA, which I did a long time ago, thank God,” he said. “The worst, stupidest deal I’ve ever seen.”
