Why is Unitree Robotics stock surging today?

Unitree Robotics, which trades as Yushu Technology, surged 16.2% to a two-month high of 725 CNY on Monday, driven by a landmark analyst double ratings upgrade from JPMorgan.

JPMorgan upgraded the Hangzhou-based humanoid robotics leader to Overweight from Underweight and raised its price target to RMB995 from RMB300 — more than tripling its previous valuation.

The upgrade followed the 2026 World Physical AI Conference held in Hangzhou on October 22, where CEO and founder Wang Xingxing stated that physical AI is already showing signs of a breakthrough and that the sector’s defining inflection point could arrive within one to two years at the earliest, or two to three years at the latest — a timeline JPMorgan described as significantly earlier than its prior estimate of up to a decade.

Beyond the JPMorgan upgrade, several supporting factors amplified the move. Institutional investors had already begun accumulating the stock, with data showing net institutional buying of RMB 241 million on October 23 alone.

At the conference, Unitree also disclosed that its G1 humanoid robot has reached cumulative production of roughly 10,000 to 20,000 units since launch — claiming the title of the world’s best-selling humanoid robot — and demonstrated a GPT-6-powered robot completing tasks with zero prior training, reinforcing confidence in the company’s technology roadmap. An upcoming earnings release scheduled for October 29 is adding further anticipatory momentum.

Unitree blazed past a flat performance in broader mainland markets.
