Why is Sa Sa International stock surging today?
Sa Sa International stock surged 6.7% to HK$1.28 on Thursday after the cosmetics company released a highly positive operational update that caught the market’s attention.
The company disclosed unaudited Q2 revenue of HK$1.414 billion for the period ending September 30, 2026, up 37.2% year-on-year, with total offline sales climbing 47.6% YoY. Separately, it announced that Hong Kong and Macau offline sales during the National Day Golden Week holiday (October 1–7) surged over 60% year-on-year, with same-store sales up more than 50% — figures that significantly exceeded what the market had priced in.
These operational disclosures arrived on the heels of a profit alert issued earlier, in which Sa Sa projected net profit for the six months ending September 2026 would exceed HK$150 million, compared to just HK$50.2 million in the same period a year earlier — representing roughly a tripling of earnings.
Today’s session also benefited from a structural macro tailwind: mainland Chinese financial markets, including the Stock Connect mechanism, reopened on October 8 after the extended National Day holiday, restoring southbound capital flows into Hong Kong-listed consumer stocks.
