Why is Grab stock surging today?

Grab Holdings stock surged 8.4% in pre-open trading on Tuesday after the company released a historic set of third-quarter 2026 results, reporting profitability across all three of its core segments — Mobility, Deliveries, and Financial Services — simultaneously for the first time.

Q3 revenue reached $1.11 billion, exceeding analyst consensus of $1.05 billion and rising 27% year-over-year, while adjusted EBITDA grew 73% to a record $237 million. The company also raised its full-year adjusted EBITDA outlook to $790–$800 million, up from a prior range of $720–$740 million — marking the second guidance increase of the year.

A key milestone underpinning investor enthusiasm was the Financial Services segment’s first-ever positive adjusted EBITDA, driven by growing adoption of Grab’s loans, insurance plans, and other financial products among drivers and merchants on its platform.

On the analyst front, Citi reiterated a Buy rating with a $5.50 price target — implying more than 92% upside from Monday’s close — noting that Grab’s Q3 results exceeded its estimates on both revenue and adjusted EBITDA, and that the revised full-year guidance also surpassed its projections.

Management also noted it accelerated share repurchases in September and October and remains committed to completing the full $900 million buyback program.

From a broader market perspective, today’s Nasdaq Composite is up 0.4%, offering a modestly supportive backdrop for growth-oriented names like Grab.

However, U.S. stock futures had been under pressure overnight as oil prices rebounded on concerns that the U.S. and Iran remain far apart on a peace deal, adding to subdued risk sentiment ahead of midterm elections.

In Monday’s regular session, the Nasdaq Composite fell 1.1% as losses across semiconductor stocks intensified, meaning Grab’s pre-market surge is entirely company-specific rather than a product of a rising tide.

The combination of a landmark profitability milestone, a significant earnings and revenue beat, a raised full-year outlook, and strong post-earnings analyst conviction created a powerful catalyst for the stock.

With GRAB having traded below $3 while major banks modeled upside to $4–$6, the positive earnings surprise triggered a sharp squeeze, sending shares to $3.10 in pre-market and pushing the stock meaningfully off its 52-week low of $2.67.
