Why is Belimo stock rallying today?
Belimo stock gained 3.8% to trade at CHF 766.5 today after UBS upgraded the HVAC specialist from Neutral to Buy and raised its price target to CHF 900 from CHF 827, implying meaningful upside from Wednesday’s close.
The bank’s rationale centered on proprietary data showing that planned global data center capacity has grown to approximately 231 gigawatts over the medium term, up from around 160 gigawatts earlier in the year, a pipeline that UBS argued is not yet fully reflected in the share price.
UBS also projected an organic sales compound annual growth rate of around 12% through 2030 and forecast EBIT margins expanding toward 25.6%.
The upgrade lands on already solid fundamental footing. In the first half of 2026, Belimo reported sales of CHF 676 million, up 20.5% in Swiss francs, with data centers accounting for 23–24% of group revenue and supplying more than half of absolute sales growth — a structural shift that has attracted sustained analyst attention.
The broader Swiss market offered little support today, with the SMI trading in mildly negative territory and ending roughly flat, meaning Belimo’s move was almost entirely attributable to the company-specific catalyst rather than any index-level tailwind.
U.S. equities were also modestly lower, providing no additional macro boost for risk assets.
Taken together, a well-timed and high-profile upgrade from a major global bank, anchored by proprietary data on the data center buildout cycle and paired with Belimo’s demonstrated ability to capture that growth, gave investors a clear reason to re-rate the stock higher today.
The shares remain well below their 52-week high of CHF 969.5, leaving room for further recovery if the data center pipeline continues to expand as UBS projects.
