Taiwan stocks lower at close of trade; Taiwan Weighted down 1.26%

Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , Oil, Gas & Electricity and Plastic sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted fell 1.26% to hit a new 1-month low.

The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were iCatch Technology Inc (TW:6695), which rose 10.00% or 5.10 points to trade at 56.10 at the close. Meanwhile, Foxwell Power Co Ltd (TW:6994) added 9.96% or 2.45 points to end at 27.05 and Flexium Interconnect Inc (TW:6269) was up 9.96% or 8.00 points to 88.30 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were H2U Corp (TW:7835), which fell 9.54% or 1.85 points to trade at 17.55 at the close. Formosa Petrochemical Corp (TW:6505) declined 8.19% or 9.50 points to end at 106.50 and Sino Horizon Holdings Ltd (TW:2923) was down 7.71% or 2.05 points to 24.55.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 720 to 279 and 122 ended unchanged.

Shares in H2U Corp (TW:7835) fell to all time lows; falling 9.54% or 1.85 to 17.55. Shares in Flexium Interconnect Inc (TW:6269) rose to 52-week highs; up 9.96% or 8.00 to 88.30.

Crude oil for December delivery was up 1.02% or 1.01 to $99.55 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 1.14% or 1.25 to hit $110.80 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.53% or 22.01 to trade at $4,138.09 a troy ounce.

USD/TWD was up 0.43% to 32.62, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.34% to 0.20.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.16% at 101.63.
