Portugal stocks lower at close of trade; PSI down 0.04%

Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Utilities and Technology sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Lisbon, the PSI lost 0.04%.

The best performers of the session on the PSI were Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:BCP), which rose 2.50% or 0.03 points to trade at 1.15 at the close. Meanwhile, CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:CTT) added 0.77% or 0.05 points to end at 6.58 and Ren Redes Energeticas Nacionais SGPS SA (ELI:RENE) was up 0.43% or 0.02 points to 3.50 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Altri SGPS SA (ELI:ALSS), which fell 1.58% or 0.08 points to trade at 4.68 at the close. EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR) declined 1.05% or 0.14 points to end at 13.20 and The Navigator Company SA (ELI:NVGR) was down 0.86% or 0.03 points to 3.24.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 13 to 12 and 4 ended unchanged.

Shares in Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:BCP) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 2.50% or 0.03 to 1.15.

Brent oil for November delivery was down 0.08% or 0.08 to $95.55 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.38% or 0.35 to hit $91.36 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 2.82% or 124.54 to trade at $4,539.14 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.32% to 1.16, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.03% to 0.86.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.62% at 98.93.
