Portugal stocks higher at close of trade; PSI up 0.52%

Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Utilities, Telecoms and Financials sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Lisbon, the PSI rose 0.52%.

The best performers of the session on the PSI were Ren Redes Energeticas Nacionais SGPS SA (ELI:RENE), which rose 1.86% or 0.07 points to trade at 3.56 at the close. Meanwhile, Nos SGPS SA (ELI:NOS) added 1.70% or 0.08 points to end at 4.90 and EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR) was up 1.51% or 0.20 points to 13.42 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Sonae SGPS SA (ELI:YSO), which fell 1.91% or 0.04 points to trade at 2.05 at the close. Teixeira Duarte (ELI:TDSA) unchanged 0.51% or 0.00 points to end at 0.49 and Corticeira Amorim (ELI:CORA) was down 0.45% or 0.03 points to 6.66.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 13 to 7 and 8 ended unchanged.

Brent oil for October delivery was up 3.94% or 3.13 to $82.58 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 3.43% or 2.58 to hit $77.80 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.19% or 8.28 to trade at $4,296.92 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.29% to 1.15, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.27% to 0.86.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.31% at 99.85.
