Poland stocks higher at close of trade; WIG30 up 0.13%
Poland stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Energy and Media sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 added 0.13%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA (WA:PGE), which rose 3.21% or 0.38 points to trade at 12.23 at the close. Meanwhile, KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH) added 2.34% or 8.05 points to end at 352.20 and Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW) was up 2.23% or 0.77 points to 35.29 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were X Trade Brokers Dom Maklerski SA (WA:XTB), which fell 9.79% or 17.06 points to trade at 157.24 at the close. Pepco Group Nv (WA:PCOP) declined 2.74% or 1.18 points to end at 41.87 and Rainbow Tours SA (WA:RBW) was down 1.31% or 1.90 points to 143.40.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 321 to 225 and 106 ended unchanged.
Shares in PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA (WA:PGE) rose to 52-week highs; up 3.21% or 0.38 to 12.23.
Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.71% or 0.65 to $91.66 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.49% or 0.47 to hit $96.10 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 3.08% or 136.10 to trade at $4,550.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was unchanged 0.02% to 4.32, while USD/PLN fell 0.35% to 3.72.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.62% at 98.94.
