Questions Still Open

- Is Mexico slowing? FX-neutral GMV rose only 21%, with tax reform and weak consumption cited.

Estimates Are Sliding
Consensus EPS is down 6.75% over 90 days and 33.37% over a year. Revenue estimates are up 15.29% over the same year. Analysts are paying for growth but are cutting their profit expectations.
Next Catalysts
- Q4 results: tentatively Feb 25, 2027. Consensus is EPS $11.17 and revenue $11.96B. Peak-season fulfillment utilization will test whether margins stabilize.
- Margin trajectory: Raymond James expects the investment cycle to ease as fulfillment utilization and slow-shipping economics improve. Cantor cut its FY2027 EBIT estimate on near-term investments.
- Competition: the previous week’s preview piece cited Chinese rivals gaining after the removal of the 20% import tax on items under $50. It also said Shopee has launched four-hour delivery in São Paulo ().
- Credit seasoning: a slower ratio of new cards to aged cohorts would help the credit margin.
- Analyst targets: targets were cut but ratings stayed bullish. Examples are Cantor at $2,000, Scotiabank at $2,300 and StoneX at $2,260.
Bull vs. Bear
Bull: Share gains, 45% revenue growth and a cheaper stock (-21% over 3 months) could pay off if spending peaks. Bear: Operating income fell about 6% YoY on 45% revenue growth. If competition forces more shipping subsidies, margins may not recover soon.
A drop in MercadoLibre Inc (MELI) below its 52-week low of $1,469.01 would mark a fresh low. A rebound above $1,627, the after-market level, would show buyers returning.
