Japan stocks higher at close of trade; Nikkei 225 up 2.08%
Japan stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Real Estate, Banking and Textile sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 gained 2.08%.
The best performers of the session on the Nikkei 225 were Recruit Holdings Co Ltd (TYO:6098), which rose 22.79% or 3,000.00 points to trade at 16,165.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Sumitomo Metal Mining Co., Ltd. (TYO:5713) added 11.85% or 1,066.00 points to end at 10,065.00 and Olympus Corp. (TYO:7733) was up 10.10% or 192.50 points to 2,098.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were CyberAgent Inc (TYO:4751), which fell 16.68% or 250.00 points to trade at 1,249.00 at the close. Mitsui Mining and Smelting Co. (TYO:5706) declined 13.55% or 4,365.00 points to end at 27,855.00 and Secom Co., Ltd. (TYO:9735) was down 7.30% or 499.00 points to 6,340.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 0 to 0.
Shares in Recruit Holdings Co Ltd (TYO:6098) rose to all time highs; up 22.79% or 3,000.00 to 16,165.00.
The Nikkei Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Nikkei 225 options, was down 16.37% to 24.99 a new 1-month low.
Crude oil for September delivery was up 1.72% or 1.41 to $83.54 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 1.69% or 1.48 to hit $89.20 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.12% or 5.42 to trade at $4,425.12 a troy ounce.
USD/JPY was up 0.01% to 159.21, while EUR/JPY fell 0.09% to 183.69.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 99.73.
