IPO market outlook: window open but selective as Anthropic filing looms

As of Oct 6, 2026 (3:21 PM EDT), IPO conditions are mixed. Deals priced at the top of their range are holding up. Valuation-sensitive deals are being delayed or cut. The one deal that could change the mood is Anthropic, but it has not priced yet.

Anthropic: The Market Test

Anthropic (ANTP) has filed its S-1. A Reuters report on Oct 6 cites the filing for CEO pay of $18M and a pledge by the co-founders to give 80% of their equity to charity.

  • Valuation gap: The May Series H round valued the company at $965B. An Oct 2 analysis says reports put the IPO valuation near $2T, with an offering as large as $100B. Bloomberg reported that marketing could begin the week of Nov 9, with trading before Thanksgiving. Read more
  • Ripple effect: The analysis argues that Amazon.com (AMZN) and Alphabet A (GOOGL) carry large unrealized gains on their Anthropic stakes. The IPO price and aftermarket trading would move those marks either way. Lock-up expiry is another risk.
  • Missing data: There is no live quote for ANTP, and the price range and share count are still undisclosed.

Recent Deals: A Split Scorecard

DealIPO priceLatestTake
Adarx Pharmaceuticals (ADRX)$17$18.68About 10% above the IPO price. Priced at the top of the range.
Electra Therapeutics (ETRA)$15$9.66About 36% below the IPO price. A mid-range pricing didn’t protect it.

Quotes are as of Oct 6, 3:19–3:20 PM EDT. Accelevation (ACCV, $18) and Orion180 (OIG, $12) priced below their ranges, which showed weak demand at the start.

Delays and Withdrawals

Oura Inc. (OURA) postponed on Sep 29 after investors balked at valuation and at the share mix, which was mostly insider sales. Holtec, Bamboo Insurance, Amaero and Siyata were also pulled. Reuters tied the wave of delays to surging bond yields.

Names to Watch This Week

  • TRex Bio (TRXB): Calendar date is Oct 8, with a $14–$16 range and about $133M raise. No live quote is available yet.
  • Retension Pharmaceuticals (RTSN): Oct 8, $11–$13, about $43M. Micro-cap, so wide swings are possible.
  • Smaller filings from August include Alopexx and Bang Mai Fang. Dates for either have not been confirmed.

Setting Up the Trade Framework

  • Bull case: Top-of-range pricing, as with ADRX, points to real demand. A well-received Anthropic deal could revive appetite for large tech listings.
  • Bear case: ETRA shows that first-day pricing doesn’t guarantee support. Rate anxiety could keep pushing deals back.
  • Key signals: Watch whether TRXB prices within or below its range. Also watch for new Anthropic terms and for any Oura relaunch date.
