Anthropic has tapped JPMorgan Chase & Co (NYSE:JPM) to lead U.S. share sales to individual investors in its potentially record-setting initial public offering, Bloomberg News reported on Tuesday, citing people familiar with the matter.
The artificial intelligence company behind Claude has considered allocating about 15% to 20% of the IPO's total shares to retail investors, although discussions remain ongoing and the proportion could change, the report said.
JPMorgan Chief Executive Jamie Dimon is expected to participate in the bank's retail investor outreach campaign, the report added.
Citigroup (NYSE:C) will coordinate the international retail offering, which includes Australia, Canada, Japan, Britain, Switzerland and some European Economic Area countries, according to the report.
JPMorgan is also leading retail investor outreach for SpaceX's (NASDAQ:SPCX) $86.2 billion IPO, which attracted more than $100 billion in individual investor demand, Bloomberg reported.
Anthropic filed publicly for an IPO on Monday, with Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley leading the offering. Investors have indicated a potential valuation of $1.4 trillion to $1.5 trillion, with $1.75 trillion possible, Bloomberg previously reported.
The listing comes as AI developers seek substantial funding to support costly model development and infrastructure expansion.
