New York Attorney General Letitia James issued a stern warning to the Democratic Socialists of America on Saturday: if you challenge incoming presumptive House Speaker Hakeem Jeffries, plan to take her on, too.

“For those who live in his district and are so drunk of power to think that they’re going to run against this man, you’ve got to get past this neighborhood and Tish James,” she crowed while speaking at a Brooklyn Democratic leadership event on Saturday during the SOMOS political conference in Puerto Rico.

“We are going hard. We are going hard for our speaker,” said James to applause.

Jeffries represents the Eight Congressional District, which includes Coney Island, Bedford-Stuyvesant and other nearby parts of Brooklyn.

The AG — a former Brooklyn councilwoman — did not mention the DSA, but DSA leaders have made it no secret that Jeffries and incoming presumptive Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) are too centrist for their radical taste.

As James was speaking in Puerto Rico, the DSA hosted a rally and march through Manhattan, claiming credit over Election Day’s blue tsunami and demanding new leadership in the House and Senate if traditional Dems don’t cater to their far-left agenda.
