The Magnificent 7 Face an Earnings Test — Where Valuation and Charts Point Next
Market Analysis by Daniel Pernas covering: Microsoft Corporation, Alphabet Inc Class A, Apple Inc, Amazon.com Inc. Read Daniel Pernas's Market Analysis
With several Magnificent Seven companies reporting earnings this week, investors are watching whether strong fundamentals can support further gains or whether technical resistance will trigger fresh pullbacks.
Nvidia (NASDAQ:NVDA) stands out on valuation, while Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) and Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA) appear considerably more expensive on earnings multiples. Technical charts also point to potential opportunities in two other stocks beyond the Mag 7: Ciena (NYSE:CIEN) and Analog Devices (NASDAQ:ADI). Both stocks have key levels to clear or targets to reach.
Nvidia Leads the Magnificent 7 on Valuation
InvestingPro’s Fair Value estimates point to Nvidia having around 40% upside potential, while analyst price targets imply potential gains of 52.2%. On this basis, the stock appears undervalued relative to these estimates.
Netflix also looks attractive on valuation, while Meta and Alphabet fall into undervalued or fairly valued categories. Amazon is another stock that appears to be trading at a potentially attractive level.
Apple and Tesla present a different picture. Apple is trading at nearly 40 times earnings, a relatively high multiple for the company, while Tesla trades at around 239 times forward earnings. These valuations imply substantial expectations for future earnings growth.
Valuation is only one part of the investment case, however. Technical levels can help identify where momentum is strengthening or weakening and where a potential entry point may emerge.

Technical outlook for the Magnificent Seven
1. Alphabet
Alphabet (NASDAQ:GOOGL) remains in a long-term uptrend, supported by a rising 200-week moving average. The key long-term support level identified in the analysis is $271.19.
In the short term, the stock is testing an important support zone. A break below it could expose Alphabet to further weakness, although bullish price gaps on the chart may offer intermediate support.

The longer-term outlook remains constructive, but a fresh bullish signal would help confirm that the current pullback is stabilising.
Alphabet is scheduled to report results on Wednesday, alongside Microsoft, making its upcoming earnings announcement an important near-term catalyst.
2. Amazon
Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN) has two pending double-bottom targets, around $290 and $272.10. However, the setup has become more challenging following a bearish gap that remains unfilled.
The stock is attempting to stabilise around its moving-average area. If that support fails, the next level to watch is the closing of a previous bullish gap, followed by key support at $225.55.

Amazon is scheduled to report earnings on Thursday. The reaction to the results could help determine whether the stock can recover its momentum and move towards its projected targets.
3. Meta Platforms
Meta Platforms (NASDAQ:META) has an active rectangle-pattern target around $853.68, but the stock has yet to break above its previous high near $593.
The shares have retreated from that resistance area and are now testing support around the 200-day moving average and the 61.8% Fibonacci retracement of the latest rally.
If these levels fail, the next important support zone is around $525, corresponding to the lower boundary of the rectangle pattern. This could become an area to monitor for potential buying opportunities, depending on an investor’s strategy.

Despite the pullback, the existing technical target remains active. A sustained move above the previous high would strengthen the bullish case.
4. Microsoft
Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) has a positive technical setup, with an active double-bottom target around $572.50. The pattern includes bullish divergence, although the stock has yet to overcome its previous all-time high.
The weekly chart shows a candle with a long upper shadow, followed by a short-term consolidation. A breakout above the previous high could put the stock back on track towards its projected target.
On the downside, the first support zone is around $515.70. Further support lies along the trend line connecting previous lows, followed by the 200-day moving average, which remains in an upward phase.

Microsoft is scheduled to report earnings on Wednesday.
5. Nvidia
Nvidia has an active long-term rectangle-pattern target around $276, following the completion of a smaller technical target.
The stock has since moved back towards its moving-average area, which represents the first important support zone. A further support level lies around $207, while longer-term support on the weekly chart is at $189.59.
As long as Nvidia holds above the longer-term support level, the broader bullish structure remains intact.

The valuation analysis makes Nvidia one of the more attractive Magnificent Seven stocks in the group, with InvestingPro Fair Value indicating 40% upside potential and analyst targets suggesting 52.2%. Nvidia is scheduled to report earnings on November 25.
6. Apple
Apple Inc remains in an established uptrend, with higher lows and higher highs. The stock has yet to correct to a Fibonacci retracement level, although a more proportional pullback could eventually emerge after its strong advance.
The first support level is the rising trend line, followed by support around $325.81. Further support lies around the moving-average area and at $299.74.
Despite the positive trend, the current entry point appears less attractive than earlier opportunities. Previous double-bottom formations and a second bullish impulse provided clearer entry signals, while the valuation has become more demanding.
Apple trades at nearly 40 times earnings, and its share price has moved considerably above the 200-week moving average. The stock can continue rising, but the current setup offers less of a valuation cushion than some alternatives.
Apple is scheduled to report results next Monday.

7. Tesla
Tesla has opened a bullish gap on the daily chart but has yet to break above its main bearish trend line. Resistance is around $397.27, and a sustained move above this level would improve the short-term technical picture.
On the downside, the Fibonacci retracement levels of the latest rally provide support between $346 and $350. A deeper correction could bring the stock towards the 61.8% retracement level around $337.

Tesla’s valuation remains demanding, with the stock trading at approximately 239 times forward earnings. This multiple reflects substantial expectations for future earnings growth, making the technical resistance levels particularly important to monitor.
Two Additional Stocks With Potential Opportunities
1. Ciena
Ciena is a potential longer-term opportunity, although it still needs to overcome important resistance levels.
The stock previously approached resistance at $462.69 but failed to break through and subsequently declined. More recently, it has held support around $311.60, raising the possibility of a recovery from this area.
The next hurdle is the 200-day moving average. A break above $462.69 would provide a clearer signal of technical improvement and activate a rectangle-pattern target around $589.80.
Source: InvestingPro
If Ciena eventually moves above its all-time high, a larger second bullish impulse could point towards $888. That remains a distant target, however, and would require several further technical milestones to be achieved.
For now, the key question is whether the stock can maintain support and overcome resistance to confirm a stronger recovery.
2. Analog Devices
Analog Devices presents a potential short-term trading setup based on an activated double-bottom pattern with bullish divergence.
The projected target is around $438. The proposed strategy places a stop-loss below the 200-day moving average, with a suggested level around $377.80.
The setup is supported by positive technical momentum and stronger relative performance than the broader market. The weekly chart also shows an established underlying uptrend.
However, the stock has moved relatively far from its average price, increasing the possibility of a proportional correction. It has yet to reach even the 38.2% Fibonacci retracement level of the latest advance.
Source: InvestingPro
The proposed strategy therefore focuses on a defined target and stop-loss rather than assuming the stock will continue rising indefinitely. The $438 target remains a projection, and the trade could fail if the technical setup deteriorates.
What Investors Should Watch Next?
The Magnificent Seven present a mixed picture. Nvidia appears comparatively attractive on InvestingPro’s Fair Value estimates, while Netflix, Meta and Alphabet also have valuation appeal. Apple and Tesla carry much higher earnings multiples, leaving less room for disappointment if earnings growth falls short of expectations.
Technical signals remain important across the group. Alphabet is testing support, Amazon is attempting to stabilise, Meta and Microsoft need to overcome resistance near previous highs, and Netflix requires a stronger reversal signal. Nvidia’s longer-term support and Apple’s elevated valuation also warrant attention.
Ciena offers a potential recovery setup if it breaks above $462.69, while Analog Devices has a more immediate trading proposal with a $438 target and a stop-loss around $377.80.
With several major earnings announcements approaching, investors should assess valuation alongside technical momentum and risk. Projected targets are not guaranteed, and any investment decision should account for the possibility of losses.
