Officer Daniel Almonte, 35, stepped in when he spotted cops interacting with someone who was pulled over around 2:30 a.m. at Dyckman Street and Vermilyea Avenue in Inwood, law enforcement sources said.
Almonte – who was not previously involved in the car stop – was given warnings to move back but instead grabbed a cop who was handling the incident, the sources said.

Officers then placed Almonte in handcuffs, according to the sources.
He was charged with obstructing governmental administration and disorderly conduct, police said.
Almonte was released with a desk appearance ticket, requiring him to appear in court at a later date, according to prosecutors.

He was suspended without pay following the arrest, cops said.
