Trump administration to disburse $8 billion farmer aid after election
The Trump administration will distribute $8 billion in diesel aid for farmers after the November 3 election, an administration official said Friday.
President Donald Trump announced the aid at a rally in Kansas on Monday. The assistance is part of a series of actions aimed at providing relief to Americans from high fuel prices caused by the war in Iran.
US Department of Agriculture official Richard Fordyce said the exact timing of payments has not yet been determined.
"It’s going to be close to the end of the year, would be my guess," Fordyce said. "That is a little unclear at this point."
