Putin says Russia considers Arctic cooperation with US partners
Russian President Vladimir Putin said Russia is looking at potential cooperation with United States partners in the Arctic region during a conference of gas-exporting countries in Moscow on Tuesday.
Putin did not provide details about what type of joint projects are being considered or whether they would focus on natural gas extraction or other resources in the resource-rich Arctic.
The Russian president told the conference that attempts to exclude Russia from the global gas market would have serious consequences. He emphasized the need to optimize export routes and increase gas supply.
Putin stated that Russia remains open to cooperation in the gas sector.
